LIC Policy Status

Life Insurance Corporation is one of the biggest and most successful life insurance companies in India. Providing better customer services to its far and wide network of customers, is always among the top priorities of LIC. For the convenience of its valuable policy holders LIC has introduced several simple and fast methods of checking a policy status.
Here we will provide information that how one can check their LIC policy status with comfort and ease. A policy holder can use three methods to check the policy status which are as follows;
1.       Online Policy Status
2.       Policy Status via Phone
3.       Policy Status via SMS
Now we will briefly explain that how one can checks the policy status by using any above mentioned mean.

1.              Online Policy Status

Any policy holder can check their policy by visiting LIC’s official website, Policy holders first need to register an account by filling a simple form. On the right side of the main page there is a ‘New User’ button, clicking which directs to the registration from. The user is then asked to provide the following information in the form;
·         Policy No.
·         Installment Premium (Rs.)
·         Date of Birth
·         Email ID
Once a policy holder is registered, they can check their policy status online by clicking on ‘Online Services’ on the right side of the main page, above the ‘New User’ button.
 Online policy status also gives the comfort to the policyholders of paying their premiums through LIC’s website. This can be done either by NetBanking or Debit/Credit cards.

2.              Policy Status via Phone

LIC policy holder spread across the country, not everyone has access to computers or internet. Considering the need of such policy holders, LIC offers policy status check through phone service. A customer can check his policy status by calling LIC customer care.
MTNL and BSNL users just need to call: 1251.
Other landline or mobile users should type their city’s’ STD code before 1251.

1.     LIC Policy Status

Ground Rule: Our policyholders can gather information from this site be it general or any other policy information. Following is the registration procedure along with details for the users to view the policy related information.
LIC Login: The registered users can go to the home page to go to the login.

How to Register on LIC Portal : In order to get themselves registered, the new users are required to fill an online registration form and to ensure the successful registration an auto-responder mail is sent to the policyholder.
As you are done with the entries of your details, you will need to click on proceed wherefrom you will be directed to a page and over there you will have to create a username and password on order to get your new LIC policy and account opened.
  1. ·         The username can be alphanumeric with dot, underscore and characters.
  2. ·         The password must probably have at least one numeric character and it should be 8 characters long or the password can be alphanumeric also which should be unique and kept confidential.
  3. ·         The user-id should also be taken care of to be chosen as a unique one.

The uses are always presented with an online policy enrolment form if the user clicks on in affirmation to the question,” Do you have any LIC policies?” and the user has to click the submit button in order the get the registration complete. A new user always has to provide basic information in order to get registered like policy number, date of birth, premium amount, e-mail Id etc. And as you have been done with enrolment of your policies, you will be able to print the form which will be in a pdf format.
One thing to be remembered that the policies to which either you are the proposer or life assured, only those can be enrolled. One needs to get the print out of the form and then the form requires the enrollers’ signature and then the form is submitted to the nearest LIC branch and in the branch at least one policy is served which is mentioned in the form. Based on your user-Id, you will get an acknowledgement from the branch. Once all your policy dockets necessary checks are done, you get the validation of all your policies from the branch.

The LIC customers can check their policy status by policy number by the following methods:

  3. 3.     Online LIC services.
  4. 4.     Commenting policy number at the end of the page.

Add Policy: Once you are registered successfully, you can easily access this page. The policy holder can provide his policy number and his premium amount after registration and the policy holder in return gets a reply mail. Information regarding the policy is displayed only if the mentioned information is error free or else the policy number gets deleted itself within 5 days following a reminder mail to the policy holder.
